What the work includes
- Full-frame or insert replacement (site-specific recommendation)
- Flashing at head, sill, and sides, properly lapped
- Integration with housewrap and siding system
- Interior and exterior trim: casing, stools, aprons
- Caulking and sealing at all perimeters
- Disposal of old windows
Why it matters
A poorly installed window is a water intrusion problem waiting to happen. The flashing has to integrate with the housewrap. The trim has to tie into the siding. The caulk can't be the primary line of defense.
When windows are part of the exterior package, we sequence and flash them with the siding so the wall assembly works as a system, not as a series of patches.
